Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicles Test Procedure
The European lab test for range and consumption. It's more realistic than the old NEDC, but it's still a controlled exam, not the road.
WLTP is the standard protocol in Europe for certifying range and consumption. It's run on a bench with fixed temperature, speed and drive profile, so every car is measured by the same yardstick.
It replaced the optimistic NEDC and is far more realistic, but it's still a lab: on the road, with cold, highway or air conditioning, you'll see less. That's why SOHpro never converts figures between different cycles: a WLTP number isn't comparable with an EPA or CLTC one.
