Range

EPA

US Environmental Protection Agency cycle

The American range test. It's usually the closest to reality of the big three, because it includes more highway driving and air conditioning.

The EPA (the US environmental agency) has its own range protocol, generally tougher than WLTP: it penalizes highway and climate control more, so its figures tend to land lower — and closer to what you see driving.

The lesson is always the same: every cycle is a different yardstick. Comparing ranges from different cycles is comparing apples to oranges.
