Vehicle-to-Load
The feature that turns your EV into a battery on wheels: an outlet that powers appliances, tools or a campsite from the car's energy. Very common on Chinese models.
V2L (vehicle-to-load) lets the car send electricity out, not just take it in. With an adapter on the charge port — or a built-in socket — you can plug in a fridge, a power tool or an event's lights, and the EV works as a silent generator.
Brands like BYD and MG offer it as standard, and it's one reason an EV is useful beyond getting around. The energy comes from the same traction battery, so heavy use trims your day's range; for occasional loads, the impact is small.
